Basketball drills

World famous college basketball coach finally shows you the "shortcuts" you can use to turn any team into high-scoring lockdown-defence championship contenders !

You watch your team`s sweat blood and tears every time in practice… they work as hard as they can.
As a coach, you can’t ask any more of your players.

But come game time, it doesn’t matter…

Some bigger, stronger team comes and destroys them. Smashing all their dreams, all their hopes. You can see their hearts breaking as the game goes on.

And then it all falls apart… they stop getting back on D, stop hustling for rebounds and loose balls. Sluggish moves on the court, heads hanging low…

… basically, they’re beaten long before the final buzzer.

And then you start blaming yourself… be honest with me here…

Sure, losing game 7 of the NBA finals is going to sting a little more… but that painful feeling, the guilt you get when your team drops an everyday game, that’s something that never goes away.

But listen… what if I told you there was a better way? What if I told you there was a way to get more out of your players?

More progress, more development, less practice time.

TRY eBasketballDrills!!!

Check out some of the stuff you’re going to be seeing:

  • How to take any team at any level and turn them into a dominant force… no matter what level they’re at now or how hard they practice, you’ll see almost instant improvements in every aspect of the game.

  • The smart, almost stupid technique for turning every player on the squad into a well-rounded player with legitimate skill… in every area of the game. (This is so simple that you honestly won’t believe you never realized it before)

  • How to FORCE other teams into making mistakes and bad choices… and then capitalize with easy lay-ups at the other end… and every easy lay-up is another nail in their coffin, screwing up their mental game and giving you an even further edge.

  • The points-generating secret behind making it impossible for your defender to stay between you and the basket… you’re going to make the poor guy suffer so much you’ll almost feel sorry for him each time you blow by…

  • And much more...

Once your players start to realize the physical advantages they have over their opposition, they’ll start to gain confidence…

… and when they start to get confidence in their abilities, the sky is the limit.

More won games. Better team chemistry. Better performance from players 1 thru 12.

Sounds pretty amazing, doesn’t it?

  • How to instantly freeze the defense, and have your players blow past them time and again for easy lay-ups, dunks, floaters, and any other shot you can imagine… you’ll destroy their confidence and the game will turn into a rout before you know it…

  • Get into the lane at will and score over bigger, stronger defenders every time… your players will have such an arsenal of high quality shots at their disposal, even a seven foot defender will pose no problems…

  • Get the instant shortcut to shooting devastatingly accurate floaters that NO ONE could block… your guys will rack up so many points with these you’ll have the other team’s big men falling over themselves to get a swipe at one… and failing.

  • Give every player on your team the ability to lay the ball in and attack the hoop strong with either hand at will… everybody on the floor will be a tough cover for the opposition – forcing them to their weak hand just won’t work!

  • Have your players able to bust out of every single defensive situation and nail a super accurate shot every time… once your players nail this, they’ll be able to fire off quick-release money shots so fast the other team will have no chance of stopping them…

Question:

Hello me and 8 friends have an amature basketball team and were looking for some drills to practice on. I particullary want to train zone defence and offensive routines. Any tips?

Answer:

I've always thought scrimmaging was the best way to practice zone Defense ... make sure everybody knows exactly where they are supposed to be, make sure they know what 'help defense' is, keep the arms up, always pay attention to where everyone is on the court, especially for the big man in the middle (if playing the 2-3) b/c he has to watch for guys cutting & such

there's alot of things you can do for offensive basketball drills, one is the 3 man weave, and another 3 man weave type thing where there is 2 guys on the baseline, 3 start at the half court line, the middle guy passes to left, the left guy passes to the right guy, the one who gets the 2nd pass does a lay up and the other two get a pass from baseline guys and take the jumpshot. its complicated to explain, but once everybody gets it..which shouldn't take long... its a real good drill, for lay ups, passing, dribbling, and shots.

Question:

What are some good basketball drills that I can do over the summer to improve my basketball skills? And should I do this everyday? I'm going to be trying out for High School Varsity basketball next year, if that helps any. And what type of a running schedule should I have?

Answer:

Shooting..I'd suggest footwork as well. Defensive basketball drills...just work on slides. I'd run three times a week maybe twice. Work on free throws.

Question

What are some effective basketball drills that I can do by myself? Mostly any drills that works on quickness, footwork, and my shot.

Answer

Here are two of the best drills that you've never heard of; 1) practice shooting 100 shots, all off of the backboard. It doesnt matter how close or how far. THe important thing is to use atleast 5 different angles, including shooting a bank shot from straight away/ the free throw line. AN excellent drill that allows you to make shots from seemingly tough angles. Defenders dont defend against the backboard just the hoop. 2) start off shooting from the 3pt line and if you miss the shot dont allow the ball to bounce more than once before you run it down. When you do run it down, shoot it again...if you miss, run it down again. Repeat this until you make atleast 5 of 10 shots. Once you do that. Repeat it. Only the first shot needs to be from deep. The rest can be from anywhere beyond the free throw line. If you rebound a shot under the goal or a few feet away from the goal, its okay to shoot it right up. Repeat it again. THE 1st drill is purely a shooting drill. The last  basketball drill is for endurance, quickness and rebounding, however it also help you to be a more disciplined shooter. Trust me, after doing the 2nd drill a few times you'll concentrate and think about your selection and form, both.

Question

What are some good basketball drills for a 8-10 yr old division?

I'm coaching a recreational basketball team in the upcoming fall, 2007, and I want to know some drills I can run during practices. It is not competitive and its still about having fun, but i want them to learn and have fun. Mainly, please dont submit expert drills, they have to have fun. They are 10 years old, keeping their attention is hard enough! Thanks

Answer

I played basketball at an age close to the age of these kids. My coaches usually had us doing sprint drills (suicides) (base line to free throw line back to base line to half court back to base line to other free throw line back to base line to other base line and back.) They called them suicides for a reason. HA HA HA

Passing drills (bounce pass, overhead pass, chest pass)

Dribbling drills (changing hands while dribbling)

Free throw drills (take turns shooting 10 free throws)

Lay up drills (from both sides of the net) (get them used to shooting lay ups with both hands.
